Susan Spindler is an award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker. At the BBC she worked on series such as Horizon, Tomorrow's World and Q.E.D. and later held senior roles in Science, Editorial Policy and Drama. Surrogate, published by Virago, is her first novel. She lives with her husband in south London. They have three children and two grandchildren.
